Have you ever had a new student in your school who looked nervous or have you ever been that new student? I can almost guaranty that you were worried, anxious, and nervous. Then after some time you make friends who help you adjust. Well the 2026 FLL season was exciting for the Awesome Ninjas because we had new team members joining us for the first time (including me). Starting FLL can feel confusing at first because there is coding, robot building, teamwork, presentations, and so much more to learn. That is why our team worked hard to make every new member feel welcomed.

The older team members helped the new members by teaching them the basics and showing them the ropes of how everything works in FLL. They explained how the Robot Game works, how to build and code robots, and how the Innovation Project is organized. Whenever someone had questions, teammates were always ready to help out and give advice.
They also made sure to create a welcoming environment where everyone felt comfortable sharing ideas and trying new things. Instead of making new members feel nervous, they encouraged them to participate, learn from mistakes, and have fun.
One of the biggest ways we stayed ahead this season was because of our amazing coach. Before the season even started, our coach gave us extra coding lessons to help us prepare early. These lessons helped both the returning members and the new members improve their coding skills before competitions began. Because of this extra practice, we did not fall behind when the season got busy.
As the season continued, the new members grew from beginners into true ninjas. Our whole team got stronger.
In the end, the 2026 season showed us that teamwork is about helping everyone succeed. By welcoming new members, teaching them new skills, and supporting one another, the Awesome Ninjas turned newbies into ninjas and grew stronger together.
